Marshmallow creme fruit dip is a quick and easy fruit dip recipe made with cream cheese, fluffy marshmallow creme and vanilla. Serve this smooth and creamy fruit dip with your favorite fresh fruits for something sweet at breakfast or brunch.
Of course, you can also serve this any time you have a fruit platter to bring. The children just love it, as well as adults. This is one of those super quick recipes that is perfect to make when you are pinched for time, but still need something to bring for a party or event.
Dress it up by adding a variety of colorful fresh cut fruits arranged on a plate and placing the bowl of dip slightly to one side. You can use a vintage plate like I did in the photo for your serving platter. That plate is from my Grandmother’s china setting and is a Homer Laughlin Virginia Rose pattern.
I do have a bit to say about marshmallow creme from a jar, also known as marshmallow fluff. Although I used to like it when I was younger, this is not something I keep on hand as it is just too sweet and too processed for my tastes today. But, I will say it works quite well in this recipe. The cream cheese gives it just enough tang to balance the sweetness of the marshmallow creme. Also, fruit dip is something that is not meant to be eaten in large quantities, so a bit on some fruit is just fine.
Suggestions for fruits to serve include strawberries, grapes, apple slices, or banana slices. Tart fruits like kiwi fruit, star fruit or orange segments are a nice contrast to the sweet fruit dip. You can cut up melons such as cantaloupe, muskmelon, or watermelon. Get creative and use color and flavor to guide you in your selection to create a wonderful presentation (even if it is just family). Everyone enjoys food that looks appetizing.
