An old-fashioned peach cobbler recipe made with fresh or canned peaches and surrounded by a moist cake. This makes a fun and easy dessert for any occasion. Serve it warm and top it with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla sauce for a treat.
With a quick 15-20 minutes of preparation, it is a quick and easy recipe that will have you reminiscing about the peach cobbler your grandmother used to make. This cobbler has a bit of a twist from Grandma’s recipe and is what makes this one a bit special. You soak the peaches in a bit of coffee liqueur along with the sugar! It gives the peaches a heady robust flavor and makes you want to DEVOUR the entire dessert yourself!
I will make a small admission here: when I made this recipe I ended up eating over half of it while standing over the kitchen counter. It was just SO GOOD still warm from the oven! Talk about comfort food! There are few desserts that I can say I have ever eaten so much of in one sitting. This is just heavenly and you will want to inhale the entire pan. The coffee liqueur is optional, but makes this recipe in my opinion. So, I encourage you to hunt down some coffee flavored liqueur at your favorite market. It makes this dish stand out.
I would always recommend fresh fruit instead of canned fruit if it is available and in season, but canned peaches worked well when I made the recipe so it is up to you.
Serve this cobbler warm with ice cream, heavy cream, whipped cream, or just by itself for dessert. You can also serve it as part of a summer brunch menu. You might want to consider making a second batch as this peach cobbler will disappear quickly!
